Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

Hey Internets! I got a fun opportunity last week to be part of a contest sponsored by the fine folks at Ronzoni Pasta. They’ve got a line of pasta called Ronzoni Smart Taste which I cooked up and served to all my boys last week. The fun part was doing it as a blind taste test, which the boys hadn’t seen before. I recalled for them the Pepsi vs Coke taste test commercials of long ago (I’m dating myself here, aren’t I? Please disregard. Thanks).

The first thing I did was to cook up a batch of the Ronzoni, and then some regular white pasta (hereby known as “the competitor”).

Next, I put some of each kind on a plate for each expert to taste.

Then? We tasted.
Can I get a drumroll please for the verdict???
Ratatatatatatatatatatatat…..

And the verdict is? They both tasted just fine. There was one detail that caused a bit of difficulty in the test. We typically choose the thin spaghetti and the Ronzoni that we were sent was the regular spaghetti noodle. I refused ahead of time to tell the boys which was which, so it all worked out for the test.

The dish I made with the rest of the batch worked out just fine with the regular size, but we will return to the thin spaghetti in future, as that’s the texture everyone here at Earnest Parenting prefers.

The Smart Taste pasta is “smart” because of the extra nutrients that have been added. When you eat the Smart Taste, you’re getting pasta that’s enriched with calcium, Vitamin D, and fiber. Bottom line? You can serve the Smart Taste and get those extra nutrients into your children all without them suspecting a thing.

As you’ve already figured out, I took some pictures of the test; didn’t want to leave you out of any of the details of our experience.

You’re welcome.

We will also be part of a photo contest for Ronzoni in which the winner recieves cash and pasta. Shameless begging for votes will commence at a later date. Thank you.

Disclaimer: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Ronzoni and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review and photo contest entry. In addition, I received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
