Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

I don’t know about you, but Heat Wave 2011 is really….hot. Our “excessive heat” warning expired yesterday, but man! It’s still hot out there.

I’ve been keeping the boys inside during the hottest hours of the day. Because of the “no screens until 2pm” rule, this has been a bit difficult in terms of finding things to do.

Stephanie emailed me earlier this summer to share the Think Outside the Box! post at IndoorPlaySanDiego, and I was thinking that now is a great time to be thinking of ways for kids to play safely indoors.

If you live in the San Diego area, Indoor Play San Diego looks like a fun place to beat the heat. For those of us sweltering in Michigan, I’m thinking a cardboard box offers a wealth of ideas and creative play until the weather cools down.

Thanks Stephanie!
