Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

Online colleges have become an efficient, fast and reputable way to get your degree and follow your dreams. Today, many stay-at-home mothers are using what little downtime they have during the day to pursue their degree. This is a wonderful way to get an extra edge for going back into the workforce, or simply feel as though you’ve accomplished something great. However, it is important to pick the correct school. A good online degree program will be both accredited and well-known.

University of Phoenix
When people think of “online school” they normally think of University of Phoenix. Stay-at-home moms love the flexible schedule that University of Phoenix offers, as well as the ability to work at your own pace. University of Phoenix offers associates, bachelors and master’s degrees in a variety of subjects, and every University of Phoenix student gets a counselor to guide them through their degree program. Additionally, many states have a University of Phoenix campus, for times when you want to visit the classroom.

Kaplan University
Kaplan is another flexible, accredited degree program that includes a variety of degrees including professional certificates and law degrees. Kaplan emphasizes real world skills and career development. Financial help is available, and there are tuition discounts to military families. Kaplan is a well-known degree program, and offers degrees with an emphasis in Health and Wellness, Nutrition Science, Marketing, Management and Criminal Justice.

Post University
Post University offers accelerated programs with eight week courses to complete your degree faster. As the online branch of a physical and accredited 4-year university, online students with Post University receive the same degree that their traditional students acquire. Post University offers degrees in the fields of accounting, legal studies, and management, marketing and computer studies, with an emphasis on business management degrees.

DeVry University
DeVry University has educated students for over 75 years, and offers degrees from five colleges including Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business Management, Media Arts & Technology, Health Sciences and Engineering & Information Sciences. Devry University students qualify for federal aid and grants, and physical DeVry campuses are available for those who want to attend offline. DeVry offers job placement services, internship opportunities and professional career advisers.

Liberty University
Offering 45 degree programs, Liberty University has the lowest tuition rates among the other leading online universities. Liberty University emphasizes student support, offers financial aid and military discounts, and operates on a non-profit basis. Liberty University is a religious university, provides degrees in social services, psychology and religion. Liberty University does not offer technical degrees or hard science degrees.

Obtaining an online degree while being a stay-at-home mom is a great way to both prepare yourself for re-entry into the workforce and develop yourself and your confidence on a personal level. Whether getting your first associate’s degree, a second bachelor’s degree, or finally pursuing your master’s, you can increase your worth as an employee while broadening your horizons. With an online degree program, there are no late night classes to attend, and nothing further complicating your already complex schedule. Online degrees are rapidly gaining credibility with each passing year, and many accept financial aid.
