Just in time for Valentine’s Day, I get to give away a LOVEly copy of VeggieTales’ DVD called Lettuce Love One Another. In true Veggie fashion, Bob and Larry teach big concepts with simple, fun stories that help kids learn about Godly concepts.
VeggieTales: Lettuce Love One Another! includes three popular VeggieTales episodes—Tomato Sawyer & Huckleberry Larry’s Big River Rescue, Abe and the Amazing Promise and King George and the Ducky—in addition to five brand-new “Bible Bits,” story shorts that demonstrate examples of giving and forgiving, helping, praying and sharing. Each episode in this collection helps teach a valuable lesson about love, whether it’s through honoring others when we help them, having patience or the importance of putting others first.
My favorite of the 3 episodes was definitely Tomato Sawyer & Huckleberry Larry’s Big River Rescue. I have been watching VeggieTales for at least 15 years and hadn’t seen that one before. I played the DVD on our drive down to Florida, and it was especially delightful when the older boys laughed out loud at the jokes. One of them even commented that VeggieTales has gotten funnier, with all the jokes for adults. I chuckled and informed him that they’ve been that funny all along; he just didn’t notice until now. So yay! We’ve officially entered the stage of life where Veggies are cool again. He was surprised when I mentioned that VeggieTales are often super popular among the college set.
Heh. Teenagers. They think they know EVERYthing.
In addition to the giveaway (use the Rafflecopter widget below), I’ve also got links to some great VeggieTales printables. How cool is that??
