I made a new friend! Chrystina of Swains R’Us was kind enough to give me the One Lovely Blog award. In addition to that, she gave me some fantastic encouragement which I treasure more than she knows. And, her hubby is in the Army either already deployed or close to it. That makes Chrystina even more of a hero in my eyes (and her hubby too). Thanks, Chrystina, so much! I’m thrilled that you thought of me!
Here are the rules for the One Lovely Blog award. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that youβve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
So. Here are the blogs that I want to give the award to:
Angies Pangies is a food blog that has saved dinner more than once. Angie is a personal friend with a fantastic sense of humor. And she’s a great chef!
Lemback Blog – Potpourri of Ramblings. This is Marlene’s blog and she’s just so sweet! I found her just a couple of weeks ago and always enjoy her thoughts, even though she’s fantastically busy and doesn’t get to write as much lately.
Bigg Success is George and Mary-Lynn’s blog. Okay, I didn’t just find them…I’ve known them for over a year, having met at SOBCon08 and again this past spring. These are two people that are just wonderful, and I’m still grateful for the time I got to spend hanging out with them in Chicago. Bigg Success is a podcast, and always a great listen.
Blue Yonder is another blog with a sweet spirit. Stefani appreciates so many facets of just everyday life. It’s always worthwhile to share her observations on life.
Flexible Dreams is written by Amy, and she doesn’t know it but we share a favorite Bible verse. Psalm 37:4 is in her header and it’s a very special verse in my life as well. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” That was Hubby’s and my wedding verse. π
Grasping for Objectivity is Rachel’s blog, and if you don’t mind poo stories her most recent post is hilarious! Reminds me of the time that TechnoBoy had a blowout at the doctor’s office. I was there with my precious father-in-law, and because there were no clothes to change into he hurried over to KMart and returned with a shorts set and tights! In October. We put him in the shorts and shirt (I declined to use the tights) and hurried him to the car to get home and into more sensible clothes. Where was I? Oh yea, Rachel’s poo stories. They’re great! And her daughter is adorable.
Halfway to Normal is Kristin’s blog, and she always has such deep thoughts. If you want some thought-provoking reading, this is the place to be.
The Happy Housewife is another military wife (and another hero) who writes about living a debt-free life, being frugal, homeschooling, and managing seven (7!!) children. She’s amazing.
Helene writes at I’m Living Proof that God Has a Sense of Humor. That’s because she has two sets of twins! Like me!! I think God is laughing harder with Helene because her kiddos are closer together in age than mine. For that I’m thankful. π
Middlezone Musings is written by Robert Hruzek. This is a man with a gentle spirit and a gift for storytelling. I got to sit with Robert at SOBCon09 and he’s as genuine in person as he is online.
Polly founded Families with Purpose which is a tremendous resource for busy families. She blogs at Our Busy Family Life and if you want some help getting ready for Christmas, head over there right now and download the free 8 Weeks to a Frazzle Free Christmas plan.
Nan writes at Things I’ve Found in Pockets. If you get a chance, check out the list! It’s a riot. She just made a major move and is handling the massive changes in life with her usual grace and humor.
Okay, how many is that? 12. Phew, I’m exhausted (I’ve been sick for over a week – am going to see a medical professional tomorrow). I know Chrystina will forgive me for stopping here. π
Thanks to everyone for writing such great stuff! I really enjoy reading it all. And now, go forth and recognize more blogs, award winners!
Earnest Parenting: help for parents who love blogs.
Hi Amy L! I’ve been reading your blogs for a looong time but this was the first time I clicked to respond (to your one about your puppyhood!) I am so glad I did to see the rest of your website! Before I forget, I have been wanting/not wanting to get a dog for FIVE years — my son is now 14. I was divorced five years ago and kept thinking it would be too much, but now we’re pretty settled in. Wondered what you thought of the timing; I think my son (only child, great kid, a little myopic π would benefit from parenting something else, as you say, but in five years the pup will be all mine to care for! Would love your comment back! I was one of the original GNMParents blogger, but took a “sabbatical” to write a book which came out this May. I LOVE reading all of the GNMParents blogs — you all are extremely valuable, creative and just plain fun! Thanks, Amy L! — Ginger
Thanks so much for the award! I am seriously hoping to have NO MORE POO STORIES for a while!!! π
OMG! I’m overwhelmed! Amy, thanks a lot for this award. I really appreciate it. I admire this blog the first time I visited here because it has a purpose. And you deserve the “One lovely blog” award.
Congrats Amy….
You really deserve this award…your blog is really lovely
Thanks
TC
Your blog is lovely and needed to be rewarded. Thank you for all that you do for parenting!! Yay for motherhood!
Amy, thanks so much for the kind words. The “One Lovely Blog Award” will be a fun post & show in the very near future!
First of all my heart full Congrats Amy…
Your blog is really nice and lovely one.
Thanks,
Ginger, I’m so glad you took the time to comment! Yes if it were me I’d get the puppy for him. If you do the work to train it well the first year, then it gets much easier from there. (Says the blogger who has a 3 month old puppy for the first time in her life.) Seriously though, by the time it’s 5 years old, you should have a great companion. Thanks for the compliments, you’ve got me blushing. I’d love to know what your book is!
Rachel, amen to that. I’ve never read a poo story to top yours!
Marlene, you’re welcome. And thanks for playing along! It’s so nice to make friends all around the world through the computer screen. π
TC, awww thanks.
Chrystina, thanks again to you too!
George and Mary-Lynn, I look forward to seeing what you do with it! You guys are always so much fun to listen to.
Tom, thanks, that’s very sweet. π
Hi Amy, congratulations on your award! And thank you so much for including me in the list of people to pass it on to!! You helped put a smile on my face tonight!
It’s always nice to meet other moms with 2 sets of twins! Your boys are older than my kiddos so hopefully I’ll learn a thing or two from you, along the way!
.-= HeleneΒ΄s last blog ..My daughter, the healer of broken hearts…. =-.
Helene, thanks! And you’re welcome!! Smiles are part of my purpose in life.
If I knew what I was doing I’d teach you something, lol. At the very least I can be the anti-example sometimes. π
HA! Grace and humour? Not so much today… But your sweet words have put a smile on my face… Thank you!
Howdy Amy! Hey, a tip o’ the hat to ya for this amazing award! I’ll make sure it has a prominent spot on the mantle. (As you know, it’s an honor to have even been nominated!) π
Anyhoo, I truly enjoyed visiting with you last SOBCon too!
Thanks so much for the kind words and award, Amy! Love your blog, your logo, and very cute boys. I have already started my list of 15 blogs to nominate. Thanks again!
