When I was young, my mom gave me a sterling silver charm bracelet. I remember her getting me various charms over a couple of years before we stopped. It’s funny, I hadn’t even thought about that bracelet in decades, but an offer to give away a modern bracelet brought it to mind.
The bracelet I had had many links, and then each charm hung down off of it on its own little link. I’ll have to dig through my jewelry box and see if I can find it. If I can, I’ll post a picture for you. I remember it as being pretty special when I was about ten years old.
The good people at Chamilia are letting me give away one of their lovely charm bracelets, along with the choice of one bead. I think there’s quite a bit to be said for the modern version of this bracelet, first and foremost because the way the beads attach makes them more secure. Part of why I stopped using mine was its fragility and the jangly nature of it. I may just look into having a more modern bracelet myself!
As I was thinking about the whole charm bracelet thing, it occurred to me that really, they’re such a great way to build ties and remember special events in life. And not just for moms and daughters. Granted, I wouldn’t necessarily expect my boys to want to wear one, but they could. Certain of the beads are just manly enough to pass muster. More importantly, they can buy beads for ME! Or their wives someday. I’m fine with that too, assuming they produce enough grandchildren.
That is a requirement: grandchildren. Especially the female kind, but I’m not terribly picky. As long as they don’t date until they’re 25.
Anyways! Contest. Prizes! The retail value of this prize is $125. The winner will choose a bracelet (I’ll need to know the correct size) and then a bead (any from this page up to $60 value). Just use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter. If you’re already a friend on Facebook or Twitter follower, that’s an easy entry for you because it’s already done! Just click to say you’ve done it and voila.
Good luck!
FTC disclosure: I was not compensated for this post (other than the joy of giving something away, yay!). The bracelet and bead have been provided by Chamilia at no charge and I hope you win.

I briefly had a charm bracelet as a child. I wish I had held onto it. I would have built quite the collection of charms over the years.
Nicole, I found my old one last night and it only has one charm on it. 🙁 I am sure I had more but I don’t know where they went. I will keep looking.
I had a charm bracelet as a kid, my favorite charm was a purse that opened and closed, I could fit a whole dime in it!
I had a charm bracelet when I was about ten years old. My favorite charm was a pair of ballet slippers.
Elizabeth, were you a ballet dancer? I bet it was a beautiful charm!
I never have had a charm bracelet, so it would be wonderful to win this and start one !!
Well then Julie, I hope you win!
Of course, I hope everybody wins, so that may not be terribly helpful. 🙂
I have a lot of charms, but no bracelet to put them on. My mom collected many charms when I was younger, but I never got to put them on a bracelet. My favorite charm was an Eiffel Tower charm.
So are they the modern kind of charm, where it’s a bead with a large-ish hole? Or the older fashion, where it links to the chain with a little ring? Mine is the older kind. I found the bracelet, will have to post a picture. Sadly, there was only one charm on it. I was sure I had more, now I don’t know where they would be. 🙁
I’ve never had a charm bracelet before!
Patricia, good luck!
I’ve never had a charm bracelet, but I’ve always wanted one!
