Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

Joe at Fathered Five tagged me for a meme about my book-reading habits. I’ve been avoiding putting the truth down in writing here at the blog, but it has to come out sometime.

I haven’t read a book in at least a year.

There. I said it. Okay well, I wrote it. Either way, it’s there for everyone to see. I do read a ridiculous amount of information daily; it just happens to be concentrated into blog, news, and magazine articles.

Alrighty, on to the questions.

1. How many books do you own? Not counting the books that the boys have in their rooms, I own enough books to fill twenty-five of the 60 quart totes. There is also a 4-shelf bookcase in the bedroom that is holding another box or two worth. Except for Hubby’s old college texts, I have probably read them all.

2. What was the last book you read? Ummmmmmmm…..hmmmmmmm. (scratches head) Honestly I really don’t know. I recall checking a pretty great novel out of the library last year and enjoying it immensely. It had to do with a guy traveling to the Pantanal to find a missionary who’d been left a fortune by a long lost father. Great story. Can’t remember the name of it. I’ve also read chunks of my Love and Logic book this year….does that count?

3. What was the last book you purchased? Aha! I have an answer for that one. It’s PHP for Dummies. Haven’t opened it up yet, and it may be a while before I can, but I want to learn a bit more about the programming language that runs this blog. I’ve picked up a bit on my own already.

4. What 5 books are the most meaningful to you? Yikes, that’s a tough question. The Bible is a biggie. Beyond that…..Oh! Definitely I love The Wall, by Gloria Jay Evans. I can’t think of any others.

5. What is your most obscure favorite book? Guess that would have to be The Wall, by Gloria Jay Evans. Such a wonderful parable, and it makes me cry every time. It’s out of print, so when I saw 2 copies for sale on eBay after haunting the used book lists for years, I bought them both.

I now tag Michelle at Beartwinsmom, Tea Party Girl, and Little Mummy.
