Encouraging Heroes. You can be one too.

I have had the most interesting phone experience for the past few months. A while back, I was given my very own Nokia Lumia 710 to try out. This little phone is jam-packed with features!

Because it runs with Windows Phone Mango, I have to admit that at first I really didn’t like it. Spending time learning a new operating system was just not high on my list of things to do.

However.

I did eventually start playing with it, and now I really love the phone! It’s not going to replace my existing phone long term, but only because I’m already in a contract with my carrier and there’s no point in shifting gears and paying the fines to change.

I have decided to keep the Lumia though. With its wireless access, I can use it any place with Internet available. I can watch live TV, Netflix, and keep up with my friends on Facebook and Twitter. A confirmed night owl, I will confess to watching television on the crystal clear screen late at night. Because it’s so small, there’s not as much in the way of flashing lights to bother Hubby. (Perhaps I shouldn’t have him read this…he might take away my Lumia and then I’d have to go to the living room at night.)

The Windows interface means that when you turn on the phone, you’re greeted with large tiles that are essentially categories. So I click on the people tile and it takes me to all my contacts and their updates. How cool is that? The Facebook app on my existing cell phone is a bit clunky and time-consuming. The Lumia gets me real-time updates, specific to my friends, very quickly. I like that.

Because it has a built-in camera (5-megapixel), the wireless access, and all the apps I can possibly download, I’ve decided to keep the phone and ditch my iPod (sorry, Apple). The Lumia is affordable, with prices starting as low as $49.99 (with phone contract from T-Mobile).

This is the best part: I get to give away a Lumia! Yay! Just click on the Rafflecopter widget below to enter to win your own phone. I need you to comment, telling me how the Lumia could make your life easier. And you can get extra entries by Tweeting the giveaway or sharing on Facebook.
